The Pharos

MIRRORED VALLEY

Nestled between tall mountains is the Mirrored Valley. Descend into the valley and you will find is it actually a small salt flat perpetually covered in a few inches of crystalline, still water. The water always shows your reflection when you look into it. It shows a reflection of your true self, but others nearby you will only see the reflection of your current appearance. In the center of the valley is a shrine made from white marble with a staircase descending downward...

THE PHAROS

Descending into the earth will send you down a spiral staircase at the end of which you will find yourself on the first floor of a gigantic crystal tower. Looking outside you will see sky and birds. The Pharos is intricate with ornate white marble hallways, enormous mirrors and statues decorated in blue enamel. You are certain you have gone underground but the Pharos is ascending upwards. Maybe you are upside down, but if you are you don't feel disoriented at all.

THE GREAT LIBRARY

At the top of the Pharos is a library. The books here contain anything you can imagine. In fact, it is exactly imagination that is within them. Anyone pulling a book from the shelf will find the book is telling a story relevant to them and their lives. Other characters can only view these stories if your character chooses to show them.

THE BEACON

Climb the stairs at the back of the library to the tip of the Pharos and you will find yourself in a crystal chamber with a massive column of light in the center that emits a soft hum. If you stare into the light for long enough you might start to forget who you are. This beacon was meant to guide Sasarai, not you. It's probably not a good idea to spend much time up here.
